Obama Loses Gun Control Debate, We Will Lose In The Long Run

President Obama is using the families of Newtown victims as props as he pushes for gun control legislation that has little to no chance of passing Congress. Amusingly Obama has the audacity to accuse the GOP of engaging in “stunts” concerning gun control. In the world of Obama parading around the families of child victims of a tragedy isn’t a stunt. Stunts are apparently reserved for those evil Republicans. So are politics. Obama doesn’t play politics, he’s for common sense reform. It’s only those evil Republicans who engage in politics. Obama knows he’s losing this debate, his tone is getting increasingly shrill as a result.

In his recent gun control rally Obama said he wants to “make it a little harder for our kids to get gunned down.” In other words, your kids are going to get gunned down but in his love and benevolence Obama is going to make it a wee bit harder for those nasty gunmen to gun down  your kids. Never mind that nothing in these new laws would have done anything to stop Adam Lanza or any of the mass public shooters of the last half century. Obama’s proposals don’t even focus on the real problem: Antipsychotic drugs. Instead of focusing on real issues, Obama is playing a typical left-wing political game by attacking gun rights.

Obama has almost no chance of passing gun control legislation through Congress. Even if he is able to defeat a filibuster in the Senate, it’s highly unlikely the House will vote on Obama’s legislation. The country generally opposes assault weapons bans, they oppose increased background checks and they oppose limits on magazines and clips. Obama must know this by now, which is why he’s getting more shrill and why he’s parading the families of victims on Air Force One while at the same time accusing opponents of engaging in stunts and politics. He’s losing and he knows it.

Make no mistake though the progressive left believes it will win in the long run. Obama might lose this issue now but in 10-15 years the progressive left has a recipe for victory on gun control. It’s the same plan they used on the homosexual marriage issue. They’re going to focus on the nation’s children at the government schools. The best way to dictate future policy is to get at the little minds of mush in the education system today. As such schools are teaching children guns are scary and dangerous. They’re denying that Americans have a second amendment right to keep and bear arms. They’re teaching kids that those who support gun rights are dangerous fanatics. The goal is to convince the next generation that guns are dangerous and gun control is vitally necessary. The schools are setting up legislation for a decade or two from now, just like they did with homosexual marriage.

Obama is going to lose this issue but he’s going to win it in the long run when he isn’t in office if we don’t pull our kids from government schools. We conservatives have to actively engage children when it comes to gun rights or we risk losing our freedom for generations to come. It didn’t take very long for the left to convince the nation that sodomy was not only a right but worthy of marriage. While gun rights are seen as entrenched in the American psyche, it will only take a generation of relentless attacks on gun freedom in schools for the next generation to support massive gun control. Obama has lost the gun control debate, we will lose it if we conservatives and Christians keep entrusting our kids to the progressives at the government schools.

It’s Come To This: The Toaster Pastry Gun Freedom Act

Josh Welch, a second grader at a Baltimore government school, was suspended for two days. His offense? He nibbled away at a pop tart turning it into the shape of a gun and then pointed it at friends in what one can imagine was a game. The timid souls at the government schools suspended the kid, up in New York no doubt Nanny Bloomberg wants Josh’s parents locked up for giving him a pop tart. It’s bad enough the school suspended a kid for making a pop tart gun, they made matters worse by offering counseling for any child “troubled” by said pop tart gun. If I were a kid I would be more troubled by the utter stupidity of those in control than I would be by a pop tart gun.

State Sen. J.B. Jennings has introduced what might as well be called the Toaster Pastry Gun Freedom Act. The bill would limit the overreactions common among the timid souls who run government schools. Sadly Josh Welch’s case isn’t atypical. Little boys across the country are being punished at government schools for pointing fingers at each other and saying bang. A 9 year old in metro Detroit brought cupcakes to school for his birthday (who knew those weren’t banned by the liberal food police?). The treats had little plastic toy soldiers on them, which of course caused the school to fall to pieces. No word on whether traumatized students have been offered counseling.

There are two things going on here. First is a hysteric overreaction to the Sandy Hook school shooting. Last I checked the shooting was perpetrated by an adult, not by a pop tart wielding child. The notion that little boys pointing their fingers at each other or that plastic toy soldiers on cupcakes creates a threat or is somehow a form of intimidation is ludicrous beyond belief. Surely even the timid souls at the government schools know they’re being ridiculous. Which, if so, suggests they’re really up to something else.

No doubt the left views the children of today as the generation that will ban guns in the future. That’s one reason why they’re trying to scare children over guns. They’re also waging a war on boys, which is their broader goal. For decades the government schools have waged an assault on boys. They don’t just promote girls, they tear down boys. Anything that is generally common among boys is torn down, be it playing war games at recess, gym class, focusing on heroes in class etc. The government schools has for decades pushed to drug little boys so they’ll sit in class. The hysterical over reaction to pop tart guns is both an over reaction to gun violence and a typical reaction to anything boy.

This is yet another example of why people need to remove their children from government schools. Especially so for Christian parents. The godless government school worldview that they teach children ought not be acceptable to Christian parents. That the schools on a regular basis fall to pieces over common things boys do ought to concern us almost as much as the worldview. We’re laughing at the teachers in Baltimore and metro Detroit for their over reaction. But they’re not laughing, they’re very serious. They really think pop tart guns traumatized students, they really think cheap, plastic toy soldiers on cupcakes pose a risk. The sort of worldview that prompts these reactions to seem as normal is a threat to the future of our republic.

Government Schools Dumb Down English With “Informational Texts”

The Obama administration is pushing for a common core for government school course work via his “Race to the Top” program. For obvious reasons part of the common core includes English. Unfortunately the Obama administration isn’t fighting to race to the top in English standards. It’s more like a race to the bottom. The Obama administration is seeking to mandate that 50% of English instruction be “informational texts.” For high school seniors, 70% of their English instruction is required to be “informational texts.” Gone are the historic pieces of literature which have shaped the English language and passed morality and intellectual thought down to generations of Americans. It’s to be replaced with the writings of bureaucrats.

Informational texts include everything from newspaper articles to bureaucratic reports issued by various agencies in Washington. They even include Presidential executive orders. Presumably they also include Congressional bills, though it’s unlikely school children will be reading the Obamacare bill anytime soon. Anyone who has read a bureaucratic report or an executive order knows they don’t come close to displaying the richness of the English language. They tend to be boring, mundane, using simple language and generally they do little more than offer straightforward ideas. Newspaper articles are generally the same in this regard. There’s nothing per se wrong with this of course. However we’re talking about school children in English class, not adults surfing the Internet for information.

Historically not only has English taught children the vast richness of the English language, it has also been a vehicle to pass morality and thought from one generation to the next. Most of the great works of literature in history have contained moral lessons which help shape the morality of the next generation. By ridding the schools even further of an historic moral foundation, we move further from our past. Arguably the schools have already ditched these historic pieces of literature. In the 90′s we were reading dime store novels and other pieces of propaganda. Obama is likely further solidifying the propaganda end of English.

While the government schools are ditching historic morality in English class they are not doing away with morality entirely. English and reading are great ways to instill morality in the young, Obama knows this. Informational texts from the government bureaucracy are most certainly teaching morality. They’re teaching children big government is good, they’re teaching left-wing policies are good. While reading a bureaucratic report is unlikely to inspire children to greater things as an historic piece of literature might, the overall affect of reading dozens of bureaucratic reports and executive orders will affect children. The teaching will be clear, government is good and big government will protect us. It’s the opposite of our historic founding.

It is government programs like this that cause people to pull their kids out of government schools. Obama and the left are once again dumbing down education. They’re going to leave thousands of kids unprepared for college, unless we decide to dumb down college even more with “informational texts.” Kids are never going to learn the richness of our language reading the reports of tiresome bureaucrats and arrogant journalists. It is only through literature that children can truly learn the English language. Unfortunately the government would rather feed kids easy propaganda.

Government Schools List Of Banned Topics

The New York City Department of Education has released a list of banned words that cannot be uttered in New York City government school classrooms. Apparently the words and topics which have been banned might make students feel uncomfortable and we wouldn’t want that would we? These words include slavery, divorce, homelessness, any and all holidays, birthdays, homes with swimming pools, nuclear weapons and poverty.

How a student can learn American history without learning about slavery or nuclear weapons is beyond comprehension. The absurdity of denying that holiday’s exist so as not to offend anyone is ridiculous. Yours truly doesn’t celebrate Christmas or Easter but I’m hardly offended at the mere acknowledgement of these holidays. Just out of curiosity, what teacher is discussion homes with swimming pools in the classroom? Or are these topics that students cannot discuss at all in the government schools of New York City?

A couple things stood out on the list. They didn’t ban discussion of the Jewish Holocaust, which is surprising because it might make people like me uncomfortable to hear about the suffering in the Concentration Camps. Being of Jewish heritage, I almost certainly lost extended family members and you would think that hearing about it would make me as uncomfortable as it would make a black kid when slavery is discussed. There are also some contradictory banned topics, such as pornography which apparently is part of the NYC government school sex ed curriculum in middle school. Evolution is banned, which is surprising considering that it is required indoctrination at government schools. Are we to believe the liberal NYC government schools are going to teach creation?

The New York City government schools aren’t doing a terrific job of educating children in the first place. But when they start banning topics, they’re digging their own grave. A student isn’t going to graduate with an understanding of history when war is a banned topic. Wars have shaped, for better or worse, the course of human events from nearly creation. How can a student understand European history without discussing war? How can American history be understood without learning about war. Our nation was created via a war for independence. That’s apparently a banned topic in New York these days.

Children are being coddled in our society, be it by overbearing attachment parents, overprotective soccer moms or germaphobe dads or by a government that doesn’t want kids to feel uncomfortable for even a moment in school. If it isn’t a list of banned words, it’s teaching kids to be bullying victims rather than standing up for themselves. The government schools are creating a massive education problem by banning topics so that kids don’t feel uncomfortable in school. In doing so, they’re denying these kids a proper education. Granted, the government schools weren’t giving these kids a proper education in the first place. But now, in New York City at least, they’re ensuring it with their list of banned topics.

At what point do we call these schools a failure? How many generations of kids must “graduate” unable to read and write and unable to grasp the simplest concepts in American history before we say the schools have failed? The entire government school system is a failure from top to bottom. Banned topic and word lists are only proof that the schools failed a long time ago. Their focus isn’t on education, it’s on feelings and other assorted nonsense. Had they not failed already, such lists wouldn’t even be created.

Increased Education Spending Hasn’t Yielded Positive Results

Forbes has an interesting article this week detailing the increase in government education spending, which pols call investment. Forbes contrasts the increase in spending with the return on the investment. In the last 60 years government has increased education spending, in 2010 dollars, by almost 13 times. The amount of cash we spend on education is utterly incredible. You would think the return on this investment would be incredible as well. But we all know it isn’t. Forbes focuses on GDP, which has decreased despite the increase in education spending. We could just as easily focus on test scores, which have decreased while the test has been dumbed down despite the massive increase in spending on education.

Education has become nothing more than a massive government bureaucracy that has little to do with education. Pols and government bureaucrats tug on the heart strings of Americans, with visions of children, in order to maintain their cash cow and increase it. Anyone who is against increased spending on education hates children or doesn’t want them to be educated. Or so we’re told.

No one stops to ask why we’re paying over $12,000 per student without seeing any appreciable results. If you do ask such a question, then you might just be one of those dangerous people who hates children and wants to cut back on education funding. But we really must ask if that would be the end of civilization as we know it. Would it matter much if we cut education funding in half? In terms of actual education, it probably wouldn’t matter much at all. The government schools aren’t exactly doing a good job educating children in the first place.

Who would be hurt if we cut tax funding of education? Teachers unions of course would be hurt, which of course means leftists like Obama would be hurt. Did you see the other day that the National Education Association would be joining in on Obama’s truth teams? Soon Johnny will come home to tell you Obama is a saint. School construction companies would be hurt if education funds were cut. They’ve spent the last 50 years living off of government by selling taxpayers the lie that students learn better in new schools. In fact, there’s no difference in results between new schools and dilapidated shacks.

One of the things this country refuses to do is have an honest discussion about government funded education. No one wants to look at the numbers, no one wants to look at the costs. Everyone is convinced that their school is ok, it’s the rest of them that are dreadful. Even numbers don’t convince such people, they know one good teacher and so it must be ok. Parents lie to themselves so they can avoid taking responsibility for their kids education. Unwilling to have an honest discussion, it should surprise no one that the piranhas in the teachers unions and government bureaucracies take advantage and demand more money.

Taxpayers are being taken for a ride when it comes to education. The results just aren’t there. Back in the 50′s parents wondered why Suzie couldn’t read. We’re still asking the same question 60 years later. Only now we wonder why they can’t read, perform basic math or know the first thing about history. Our society is full of people with diploma’s and degrees, but it hasn’t resulted in any substantial economic gain. It certainly hasn’t resulted in an increase in knowledge. So why exactly are we spending so much? That is the question that is heresy to even ask.

14 Year Old Suspended For Opposing Homosexuality In German Class

14 year old Texas high school student Dakota Ary(we’ll reserve judgment on a mother who would name her son Dakota) was suspended from school for telling a friend in class he thought homosexuality was wrong. Ary was in German class wherein the teacher appears to have led a discussion, in German, about religion and homosexuality. It appears that the school suspended him not for talking to his friend but because he opposed homosexuality. The boy was apparently warned by the school not to voice opposition to homosexuality in class.

This entire situation exposes the level of indoctrination taking place in government schools today with regards to homosexuals. This a 9th grade German class, why exactly are they talking about homosexuality. In German no less. This teacher appears to have a history of forcing this issue on students, going so far as to post pictures in his classroom of men kissing. While everyone is up in arms over the absurdity of the suspension, the real issue is that the topic of homosexuality is even being discussed in a German class for 14 year olds.

The topic of homosexuality has no place in the government schools, much less in German class. Yet it’s a topic that is mandated for favorable indoctrination at the government schools in California for children as young as 5. There is an effort taking place in the government schools to make homosexuality normal, which it is not. Not only are they attempting to make it normal, they’re attempting to exalt it. For Christians this is yet another reason why we shouldn’t be sending our children to government schools. For taxpayers, one wonders why we put up with these schools wasting time and money indoctrinating students on fringe issues when the kids can’t read or do math at grade level.

Nothing of course will be done about this teacher who is wasting time in German class pushing a homosexual agenda. Tenure likely protects him, which should outrage all of us. Tenure was meant to protect the academic freedom of college professors. It was never meant to protect grade school teachers from being fired for inappropriate conduct. There ought not be academic freedom in K-12 education. There is no need for it, teachers have no business teaching anything other than what the school has told them to teach. Tenure only protects bad teachers from being fired and it protects radical leftists from being fired for indoctrinating students.

Dakota Ary is yet another victim of the radical homosexual agenda which seeks to demonize anyone, particularly Christians, who oppose it. These people are trying to glorify that which is evil and unseemly. That schools don’t have any problem punishing children who dare express an opposing viewpoint ought to concern everyone. Especially so when we’re talking about German class. Ary’s suspension was ridiculous on its face but the topic of discussion in a 9th grade German class was more ridiculous. If you think this isn’t happening at your government school, you’re sadly mistaken.

Obama, Liberal Policies Increase Black Unemployment

Under President Obama black unemployment is 16%. If you’re a black man it’s even worse, 17.5% are unemployed. If you’re a black teenager it’s worse still, 41% of black teenagers are unemployed. These numbers are, obviously, higher than the general American population. They are the result of generations of failed government policies and of the current administration who, like most Democrats, takes black votes for granted.

During the 1920′s black unemployment was no higher than white unemployment. It took union laws, passed by liberal New Deal Democrats, to ensure that blacks had less access to jobs than whites. It’s no secret that FDR’s union bills were meant to keep poor working class blacks out of the marketplace and thus out of competition with white union labor. Since these bills black unemployment has always been higher than white unemployment. It’s only recently that said black unemployment has moved more than a couple points ahead of general American unemployment.

Looking at the current situation there are two clear problems for blacks in the marketplace today. Both problems are created by government. The first to address is the minimum wage. The most recent minimum wage hike was signed into law by President Bush. There are those in the Obama administration who want to see the wage go up to $10 per hour. With 41% of black teenagers unemployed (nationwide the number is cut in half) it is clear that the minimum wage is set higher than the value of labor in the market today. If the wage were lower, more teens would have access to jobs and the unemployment rate would drop.

Having 41% of black teenagers unemployed doesn’t just hurt these kids today. It hurts them for years to come. Having a job as a teenager isn’t just about bringing home a little bit of spending money. It’s about learning how to be employed. It’s about learning to come to work on time, to do the tasks a boss asks, to do tasks in a professional manner. It’s also about gaining employment experience to put on a resume for future, higher paying jobs. With the minimum wage set as high as it is right now, teenagers of all races, particularly blacks, are being denied the ability to learn job skills that will last them a lifetime.

The second major government action that has hurt blacks in the job marketplace is the massive, progressively run, government school system. For generations all Americans have been lied to about government schools. The progressive “experts” have told us to trust them, they know how to best educate children. Rather than educating them, the government schools spend more time indoctrinating them. Test scores are horrible across the board at government schools. They’re even worse in the inner cities, which are predominately black or other minorities. You can’t even use funding as an excuse, these schools generally spend more per child than most rural and suburban schools.

With government education so poor in the inner cities, young blacks are left with an inadequate education thanks to the government. That makes their lives more difficult and increases black unemployment. Worse, it keeps blacks dependent on the government whether it’s in the form of direct welfare or other programs such as food stamps, medicaid, section 8 etc. With a proper education, blacks would not be dependant on government welfare programs. Unfortunately, they’re never going to get a proper education from progressive government schools.

President Obama has done absolutely nothing to help black unemployment. Since his policies have caused unemployment to rise in the general population, there is little doubt that his policies have caused black unemployment to rise. Like most Democrats, Obama won’t do anything to alleviate the problem other than token gestures like reopening the civil rights division at the Justice Department. With current unemployment so high and with conditions never improving after generations of government programs created by progressive Democrats, one wonders why black Americans continue to vote for Democrats.

Food Tyranny in Chicago: Brown Bag Lunches Banned

Michelle Obama’s dreams of tyrannical food control are coming true at some Chicago government schools. It seems homemade lunches are banned at more than a few Chicago government schools. Unless a child has an allergy he is stuck eating the slop that the government school hands out at lunch. His parents have no choice. The government school lunch costs $2.25 if the Federal government isn’t subsidizing it. Not surprisingly the politically connected school lunch company Chartwells-Thompson stands to make a fortune if more schools ban parents from sending their kids to school with a homemade lunch.

The arrogance of the government schools is sort of incredible. They apparently believe it is their responsibility to make sure children eat what they consider to be healthy food. According to one principle:

Principal Elsa Carmona said her intention is to protect students from their own unhealthful food choices.

Since when was it the job of the government schools to protect children from themselves? Since when was it their job to step in and prevent parents from determining what their kids eat for lunch? It’s this sort of power that government should not have over students or anyone and yet most turn a blind eye when the government schools declare that they alone will determine what kids eat for lunch.

What’s going on in Chicago does little more that set children up for a lifetime of servile dependency on the state, which is exactly what the socialists at the government school want. They want children to grow up depending on the government to determine what is best for them. They want them to grow up with only the choices that the government decides to bestow on them. What these socialists don’t want is for children to have free and unfettered access to choices that the school or government doesn’t approve of.

One of the goals of the government schools has always been to train the next generation to rely on the state. The schools have always been viewed as the way for socialists to change the next generation. This dates back to Dewey and Mann, the founding fathers of modern government schools. Parents have long been seen as an impediment to radical socialist change dating back to the very beginning of modern government schools. So it should come as no surprise that the next government school movement, the control of food, views parents as the problem and thus seeks to isolate parents from their kids. Ironically the government schools will try to deflect blame for poor test scores by blaming parents when all along they have tried to keep parents away from any serious decision making at the schools.

It is none of the government’s business what our children eat. It is therefore none of the government schools business what parents choose to serve their kids for lunch. Even if we agree that a lot of parents give their kids unhealthy food to eat, that is not cause for government to step in. Parents have an inalienable right to raise their children and thus feed their children as they see fit. Haughty government bureaucrats do not know better than parents and should not be allowed to substitute their judgment with the force of law.

Michelle Obama’s food campaign is dangerous because it seeks to turn know it all government bureaucrats into absolute authorities on healthy eating. Those bureaucrats in turn will substitute their judgment for that of parents. Every time the left gets up in arms about something like food it leads to less freedom for parents and more government control in the lives of children and families. That is exactly what is going on in Chicago today. Mrs. Obama may be jumping for joy in one of her frumpy designer outfits but what she wants costs the American people in freedom. Parents alone should be free to determine what their children eat for lunch. Government needs to steer clear of usurping parental authority.

Only 38% Pass Basic Civics Test; Newsweek Reaches Wrong Conclusion

Newsweek had a piece this week claiming that 38% of the country cannot pass a basic citizenship test. The civics test is so simple as to be ridiculous. How many members are there in the House? Who was the President during WWI? Who is the Speaker of the House? The sort of questions that any 4th grader ought to be able to answer with ease. It’s a good example of how bad the government schools are. Considering the state of education in this country, I suppose it should be no surprise that the average adult doesn’t know anything about our nation’s history.

So what does Newsweek have to say about all of this? They sought opinions from ‘experts’ who proceeded to blame decentralized education and capitalism. No, I’m not kidding. Newsweek whined about income inequality and then quoted NYU professor Dalton Conley:

It doesn’t help that the United States has one of the highest levels of income inequality in the developed world, with the top 400 households raking in more money than the bottom 60 percent combined. As Dalton Conley, an NYU sociologist, explains, “it’s like comparing apples and oranges. Unlike Denmark, we have a lot of very poor people without access to good education, and a huge immigrant population that doesn’t even speak English.” When surveys focus on well-off, native-born respondents, the U.S. actually holds its own against Europe.

Newsweek then quoted Yale professor Jacob Hacker:

Other factors exacerbate the situation. A big one, Hacker argues, is the decentralized U.S. education system, which is run mostly by individual states: “When you have more centrally managed curricula, you have more common knowledge and a stronger civic culture.” Another hitch is our reliance on market-driven programming rather than public broadcasting, which, according to the EJC study, “devotes more attention to public affairs and international news, and fosters greater knowledge in these areas.”

So Newsweek argues that the reason why Americans don’t know anything about our history is because of income inequality and decentralized education. On the latter issue, I can think of nothing worse for education than having the so-called education experts centralized in Washington. Government and university experts are experts at little more than fouling everything up by making declarations unto us little serfs. Centralized education would only create a massive centralized bureaucracy and we know that bureaucracies exist not to achieve their stated goal but to feed themselves more money and power.

As for income inequality, it is perhaps the worst excuse of them all. In the 19th century there was income inequality in this country and yet it was a priority for poor people to learn how to read and get a basic education, including civics and American history. This was done not via public schools but via private schools. Even in the 20th century European immigrants made sure their children learned basic American history so that they would be American. That has been lost in this country among the poor and dare I say among just about everyone.

Teaching civics and American history is no longer a priority in the government schools. Unless the history is negative of course. I’ll bet if the questions were about the Trail of Tears or Jim Crow more than 38% might actually pass. The schools, run by extreme leftists, desire to separate us from our past. The way to separate us from our past is to not teach civics and American history. The problem isn’t decentralization or income inequality, which the NYU and Yale professors both know. The problem is that the left is actively trying to separate us from our history. The way to do that on a mass scale is via government schools.

Newsweek’s article highlights one of the big problems with government education but their explanation is backwards. We need less government involvement in education. What we need is a separation of education and state. Parents need to be responsible for their own kids education. It is not the job of the state to teach children. In fact the dismal results at government schools suggest that not only can the state not educate children but that they surely should not be trusted with said education.

Glenn Beck Highlights Politically Correct Three Little Pigs

Yesterday Glenn Beck made waves for his telling of the Three Little Pigs. The telling included graphic pictures of Nancy Pelosi as Goat Woman and AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka as a donkey. The original three little pigs story contains many good lessons for children. In the original, the pigs who built houses of straw and sticks were lazy and frivolous. They ended up being eaten by the wolf. The third pig was prepared and creative and ends up eating the wolf. The lessons in the story are quite clear.

There appears to be a new version of the three little pigs. It’s contained in something called Story Town, which seems to be a collection of politically correct fairly tales and stories. An electronic version is available here, just select theme two lesson eight. These stories are unintentionally funny for those of us who have been amused by James Finn Garner’s Politically Correct Bedtime Stories. Unfortunately, Story Town is all to serious. In their version of the three little pigs there is a housing shortage, the wolf has a heart attack and houses are made of recycled products. Of course, everyone is friends in the end.

The lesson of the Story Town version of the three little pigs is quite clear. It’s pushing collectivism, it pushes various PC issues such as recycling. It doesn’t teach children to be creative, it doesn’t teach them that laziness has consequences. In the end, no one is eaten and everyone is a friend. That’s hardly the sort of life lesson I want taught to my children. It just isn’t reality. Fairy tales have always taught valuable life lessons through fantasy situations. Story Town does the opposite, it teaches no valuable lessons and it’s fantasy situation is filled with little more than modern PC nonsense.

But here’s the real kicker about Story Town. Put the PC nonsense aside for a moment, it’s only half the problem. This story is for fourth graders. That’s right, fourth graders. No wonder kids can’t read, write or think at their grade level. The government schools are to busy filling them with propaganda via stories that are meant for much younger children. Fourth graders should be reading much more difficult material, with more difficult language and more complex story lines. Furthermore fourth graders should be reading books with considerably less pictures than the three little pigs.

This Story Time book may not be part of every school curriculum but make no mistake books like this are in every government school classroom in the country. The left controls the government schools and if you think they aren’t pushing this sort of propaganda on children you’ve got another thing coming. Just 21 years ago in 5th grade I was told in school that the entire Amazon rainforest would be destroyed in 5 to 10 years. I was told we were all going to die of acid rain and that spray bottles were going to give us all cancer. The propaganda has only gotten worse and more intensive.

If you have your children in the government schools, I urge you to remove them. Between the schools monitoring your kids at home when they’re online and this sort of propaganda, I don’t understand how anyone can keep their children in the government schools. The left seeks to change the next generation via government schools, that has been their goal since Charles Mann and John Dewey. Don’t be fooled into thinking your school is ok, none of them are.
