Obama’s Foreign Policy Legacy Is Inconsistency

Since World War Two second term President’s have cemented their legacy via foreign policy. Reagan won the Cold War during his second term, Clinton had some success in Northern Ireland and Israel. Others like LBJ and Bush 43 got bogged down in unpopular wars. Obama rarely talks about foreign policy anymore, it seems clear he wants to focus exclusively on domestic affairs. This should hardly be surprising if an account by Vali Nasr is to be believed. Nasr describes Obama’s foreign policy as “dithering, controlling and risk adverse.” You might as well add unclear and inconsistent because that’s what it’s been during his first term.

The Pentagon is welcoming a Chinese General who has threatened to nuke the US on a number of occasions. We only owe the Chinese $1 trillion, we aren’t their slaves yet. So why Obama is putting up with Gen. Zhu Chenghu coming to town is anyone’s guess. Interestingly according to Joe Biden, Obama isn’t bluffing when he threatens Iran over their nuclear program. Let’s try to figure this out. We’ll invite a Chinese General who has threatened to nuke the US to the Pentagon but we’ll engage in military action against Iran over their budding nuclear program that hasn’t yet produced a bomb.

Obviously there are some differences between China and Iran. But this example demonstrates the inconsistency the Obama administration has when it comes to foreign policy. That said, does anyone believe Biden when he says Obama isn’t bluffing? So maybe Obama is consistent in appeasing enemies of the United States. In 2008 Obama wanted to personally sit down with Iran. That of course never happened, even though Obama could have easily scheduled such a summit. Iran would have loved the propaganda value of such a meeting, they aren’t responsible for it not taking place. Obama is. We’ve gone from sitting down with them in 2008 to threatening war even though nothing of substance has changed.

Speaking of enemies of the United States, Dennis Rodman’s pal Kim Jong Un claims he’s lifting the cease fire with South Korea on March 11th. North Korea has become increasingly belligerent over the past couple years. Yet Obama doesn’t seem engaged in the area at all. The North Koreans have made threats before of this nature. They’re likely bluffing. So far we don’t even have a statement from Obama on North Korea. He’s probably too busying dithering in the White House fretting about risk while being advised by Valerie Jarrett and other domestic advisers who know little to nothing about foreign policy.

Obama doesn’t seem to have any foreign policy agenda for his second term. His first term left the middle east a complete mess. He seemed to choose sides almost at random in Egypt, Libya and Syria. He’s largely ignored North Korea and Iran’s nuclear programs. Yet he’s going to threaten war over Iran’s while continuing to ignore North Korea’s. Obviously these are different nations with different circumstances. Having said that, North Korea is a direct threat to our ally South Korea. The North Korean’s can start a war today against the South, they can kill tens of thousands easily. Iran is only a threat to Israel, in a substantial way, if they get a nuke. Yet the hardline is taken with Iran (if you believe Obama isn’t bluffing) and North Korea is ignored. It makes no sense and unfortunately this is likely going to be Obama’s second term legacy: He makes no sense.

Israel On The Brink Of War

While everyone in the US is paying attention to the salacious details of the David Petraeus fornication scandal, there are other things going on in the world. (in fairness, there are other things going on with Petraeus as well) Israel has launched a handful of bombs on Syria and perhaps more importantly has launched several bombs on Gaza killing a top Hamas commander. The Gaza attack is being described by Israel as a major offensive. Israel has already hit 20 underground rocket sites in Gaza. The Israeli army has declared they are prepared for a major ground offensive in Gaza should it be necessary.

Rather unsurprisingly Hamas has fired several rockets into Israeli border towns. Hamas is of course associated with Iran, which in response to the attacks on Gaza are conducting massive drills in preparation for war with Israel. Egypt, formerly an ally of Israel under Mubarak, is supporting Hamas and threatening to get involved. Obama’s response has largely been silent, though he allegedly called Israel and Egypt trying to talk them off the ledge. None of these events are particularly surprising. They’re a direct result of Obama’s foreign policy which has done little more than placate radical Islam at the expense of our ally Israel.

Obama refuses to get tough with Iran then we’re supposed to be shocked when Hamas fires rockets into Israel at will. Obama has consistently looked the other way as Iran has armed Hamas. In Egypt, Obama actively supported the overthrow of Mubarak knowing full well the anti-Israel Muslim Brotherhood would take control of the country. The Muslim Brotherhood is on record wanting to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth. Did Obama think he’s amazing oratory would be able to convince the Brotherhood not to do that? Obama continues to fund the Egyptian Army to the tune of over $1 billion annually. We’re essentially funding the army that will attack our ally in Israel. (message to the GOP House: Cut foreign aid funding for Egypt)

Obama’s apology tour in 2009 did exactly what it intended to do. It demonstrated American weakness in the middle east. It told radical Islamic groups that the United States would be largely unwilling to get involved in disputes involving Israel. It set the stage for Arab Spring in which radical Islamic groups overthrew relatively pro-American regimes and replaced them with vehemently anti-Israel regimes who do little more than pay lip service to the United States. Now we’re on the brink of war in the middle east, a war which can hardly be called unforeseeable. Iran has been threatening war for years with Hamas as its puppet. Egypt has longed for war ever since the Muslim Brotherhood took over. Obama’s foreign policy has been a success, if we define success as weakening America and achieving Obama’s personal goals.

Obama is going to go through the motions of trying to avoid a war. Odds are he will not get US troops involved in any meaningful way. He doesn’t want to support Israel and he doesn’t have support at home to join the Brotherhood and Iran. He’ll pay lip service to Israel while doing very little in their defense. The result of that is that the war, if one should occur, will be particularly nasty and bloody. Without the backing of its major ally, don’t be surprised if Israel uses its nuclear weapons if it feels like its backed up against a wall. While everyone here in the US is focused on Petraeus’ adultery, we’re not focused on a potential war in the middle east to say nothing of the Benghazi cover up. It’s time for us to start paying attention.

Obama Thinks Israel’s Concerns About Iran Just “Noise”

On 60 Minutes Obama said he believes that Israel is “one of our closest allies in the middle east.” One wonders what nation is closer to the US than Israel. In fact, one wonders what middle eastern country even comes close to Israel. Is it Egypt, with its staged Embassy attack two weeks ago? Perhaps Saudi Arabia with its network of terrorists. Iraq maybe? No, Obama wouldn’t want to give Bush credit for something like that. So what nation in Obama’s mind is closer to the United States in the middle east than Israel. We of course got no follow up question from CBS on the matter.

It gets better though. According to Obama, Israel’s concerns about Iranian nuclear capabilities is just “noise.” In Obama’s world Benjamin Netanyahu is the annoying ankle biter across the street who won’t stop yapping. Like an ankle biter or similarly annoying barking dog, Obama has tuned Netanyahu out. We sort of knew that already since Obama is refusing to meet with the Israeli PM this week. For a nation that’s supposedly a close ally, Obama sure seems willing to ignore their concerns. Israel’s concerns aren’t exactly unfounded. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is on record wanting to wipe Israel off the map. When Israel objects, that’s just noise to Obama.

Interestingly Obama isn’t the only one to use the term noise when it comes to Israel. Ahmadinejad used the same term ‘noise’ in an article published yesterday by the Washington Post. It doesn’t appear as though Obama and Ahmadinejad are copying one another. Obama gave his 60 Minutes interview a few days ago but it wasn’t released until last night. The Ahmadinejad article appeared Sunday morning. Still, it’s interesting that both Obama and Ahmadinejad use the same terminology when it comes to Israel. Obama really believes that Israel is just making noise. Ahmadinejad knows Obama doesn’t like Netanyahu and is probably taunting both the US and Israel.

Obama must think he has this election in the bag. He’s clearly not interested in whether he offends Jewish voters. Maybe he already has their money and doesn’t care anymore. Or perhaps he realizes that most Jewish voters live in New York and California which will be blue states whether Jews vote Obama or not. Evangelical voters, who foolishly believe modern Israel is some sort of reincarnation of Biblical Israel and thus support Israel without question, aren’t of much interest to Obama either. Odds are most evangelicals weren’t going to vote for Obama. So perhaps Obama doesn’t think there is any political risk in downplaying Israel’s importance and dismissing their concerns.

The problem though is that Obama seems to be looking at this from a purely political standpoint. There is more to foreign policy than Obama’s re-election. By dismissing our longtime ally, we’re sending two messages to the middle east. First, being our ally doesn’t have any perks because the President will dismiss you without cause at his whim. Second, we’re signaling to nations in the middle east who want to see Israel destroyed that we won’t do much to help them if they are attacked.

The consequences of both these messages are troubling. Why would any nation in the middle east want to be an American ally when we dismiss our longtime friends so quickly and without cause? For those nations who want to destroy Israel, they must be licking their chops. Even if Obama helps defend Israel, it’s likely to be a half hearted effort. He clearly cannot stand the Israelis. He’s basically giving countries like Iran permission to attack. After all, our President isn’t much concerned about those Jews yapping in the back ground.

Israel should not be supported without question and at all cost. But when they are threatened with nuclear annihilation by a country that we know is trying to obtain nuclear weapons, it might be wise of us to listen to Israel’s concerns. If we allow our only long time, largely unquestioned ally in the middle east to be destroyed then we will have no influence in that region whatsoever. Nations in the middle east would view the destruction of Israel as the destruction of the United States. They wouldn’t listen to us anymore, much less care to be allies with us. Obama doesn’t seem concerned about any of this but voters should be.

Some Thoughts On The London Olympics

The Olympics are a fascinating event. The London Olympics began last night with an opening show that included an ode to socialist medicine. Yet the Olympics tell us to put politics aside for two weeks. That doesn’t happen of course. A Greek jumper was thrown out of the Olympics for a supposedly racist tweet but the South African flag bearer won’t be punished for walking into the stadium last night flashing the black power sign. An Iranian is claiming a “gut” injury so he won’t have to play Israel. The Olympics claim they will clamp down on this sort of nonsense but then they refuse to have a moment of silence to remember the 1972 Munich attack 40 years ago. Also, somehow Palestine is a nation yet it isn’t. And here we thought this was a non-political event.

Our Olympic team looked ridiculous last night. Nothing says American like beret’s and outfits that make the fellas look like men of leisure circa 1935 and the ladies look like stewardesses. Everyone made such a deal over the fact that these outfits were made in China. The real problem is that they’re ugly and they have nothing to do with the United States. All the other countries wore outfits that in some way represented their nation. What exactly about the American outfit represented the US? Just because an American designed them doesn’t mean they represent the country. Where are the cowboy hats or stetson’s? Where are the cowboy boots? Why do our ladies look like stewardesses?

Mitt Romney is over at the Olympics. Apparently he hopes to see his wife Ann’s horse in one of the equestrian events. He suggested earlier in the week that London wasn’t ready to host the games. He’s right of course, London has all sorts of problems heading into this week. Not the least of which is a taxi strike that forced Romney to hoof it across London to speak with Irish leaders. They also have a threatened customs officials strike scheduled for this weekend. Traffic is a major concern, as is public transportation. They’re having security issues as well. So no, London isn’t all that prepared for these disasters. But still, what was the point of saying the obvious? Romney is overseas to spread good will, get a little good press, smile and be looked at. Even if his comments were right, they distracted from his goals.

How many people know the Nazi origins of the Olympic torch race? Everyone views the torch race is an Olympic tradition, one of these absurd little events where we pretend there is solidarity within a nation and between nations. The fact though is that the torch race is an invention of the Nazi’s who used it as a massive propaganda tool for the 1936 Olympics. Hitler had the torch race start in Olympia, complete with a German band and swastika’s flying. It wound it’s way north to Berlin, where only the very best looking blonde haired and blue eyed Aryan’s carried the torch to the Stadium. It makes you wonder why the torch race has become an Olympic tradition.

I hope the Americans do well in London. For the next two weeks we’ll be subjected to hours of sports we never knew we cared about (think: swimming and weight lifting) and hours of sappy NBC created story lines. Let’s face it though, all the sappy stories are dreadful and the Olympics themselves have lost a lot of their importance in our lives. The Cold War made the Olympics important. It was the United States vs. Soviet Union. It was Western freedom vs. Eastern communism. The Olympics have never been as interesting since the fall of communism, not that we would give that up for two weeks of amusement every four years. Still, deep in your heart you know these Olympics won’t be as exciting or as interesting as they were 24 years ago. Now, someone wake me up when the tennis is on. I want to see Venus and Serena on Centre Court again  beating down their opponents.

Gas Prices Skyrocket Thanks To Obama’s Failed Policies

Gas prices have risen to $3.73 per gallon on average throughout the United States. If this isn’t the highest price seen in February it’s awful close. We haven’t even hit the summer blend season yet, wherein the government mandates price increases through ineffective additives added to gas. Obama’s energy policy has been a complete and total failure. Gas prices have doubled since Obama took office.

We have an unstable economy, which is teetering on recession despite the wild eyed claims of recovery. Orders for durable goods plunged 4% in January. Shipments of capital goods are down 3%. These are important figures because they suggest that manufacturers are not investing in new equipment, which suggests they don’t believe there is any profit to be made in the future.

Which gets us back to gas prices. The one good that can create havoc in our economy  is the price of gas. When gas prices increase the cost to ship goods increases, which means we see an increase in consumer prices. When gas prices increase two things happen to consumers. First, they don’t have as much money to spend and second they make less shopping trips. The end result is that when gas prices increase there is less consumer spending, which stalls the economy.

Obama’s energy policy has aided the increase in gas prices. Obama has decreased Federal oil and gas leases by 70%. He’s made 85% of offshore oil off limits. He won’t drill in Anwar. He rejected the Keystone Pipeline, which would have brought millions of barrels of Canadian oil to the United States. While Obama has made drilling for oil more difficult, he’s passed off billions of tax dollars to politically connected green energy companies like Solyndra. He’s spent billions on coal powered cars. (how do you think we get electricity in this country?)

In short Obama has wasted billions on politically connected companies that make Obama’s far left environmentalist constituents happy all while refusing to allow the nation to drill for more oil. In doing this, Obama has ensured high gas prices because we cannot increase the supply of oil. Gas is $3.83 two blocks from my office, it’s a wonderful reminder of Obama’s energy policy. It was in the $1.75 range when he took office.

It isn’t just Obama’s energy policy that is coming to play here, his foreign policy has been a disaster for gas prices as well. Iran is cutting off oil supply to Europe and they’re playing games in the Straits of Hormuz. The result of restricted supply and threats of further restricted supply have resulted in higher oil prices. Obama’s failure to properly deal with Iran has only made matters worse for gas prices.

Obama campaigned in 2008 as a candidate who would be weak with Iran and he’s governed that way. It’s one of the few promises he’s kept. Unfortunately Obama’s weak hand has emboldened Iran, who now believes they can threaten to close the Straits of Hormuz without repercussion. With Obama in the White House, they’re probably right. Obama’s recent apologies over a meaningless Koran burning in Afghanistan only fuel countries like Iran. Obama’s weakness in apologizing for an accidental Koran burning emboldens Iran to take the next step. Obama has never understood (or perhaps has never cared) that the slightest American weakness internationally is an invitation to tin pot dictators to challenge us. Iran is taking full advantage of Obama’s weakness.

Gas prices likely won’t be getting better soon. Iran has no reason to back down, especially when they can inflict pain on the American people without facing any consequences from our government. Rather than issue permits for oil drilling or signing drilling leases for Federal lands, Obama would rather waste tax money on inefficient green energy. Obama would rather gas prices move above $4 than give up his dream of a coal powered car in every garage. When you look at the price of gas at the station closest to your home or workplace, remember it is Obama’s policies that have led to it being so high.

Obama Silent While World Burns Around Him

The world is blowing up in our faces and we have near silence coming from Washington. Last week Iran claims to have arrested 12 undercover CIA agents who were allegedly targeting Iran’s nuclear program. Since Iran’s claim, we’ve heard nothing from the CIA or the Obama administration. In fact the mainstream press has been nearly silent on the matter. It’s entirely possible that Iran is lying but if they’re lying why would the mainstream press remain so silent?

Over the weekend NATO fired on Pakistan killing around 24 soldiers. Pakistan is ablaze with anti-American protests as a result. The mainstream press has largely ignored all of this and the Obama administration has more or less remained silent. In Egypt there have been massive protests staged by the Muslim Brotherhood. The Brotherhood declared recently that “one day we shall kill all the Jews.” Remember of course that the Obama administration supported the Muslim Brotherhood in both Egypt and Libya.  Earlier today saboteurs blew up a gas pipeline from Egypt to Israel. Silence all the way around from the Obama administration.

The Obama administration will no doubt claim that it was Thanksgiving weekend and that’s why the President didn’t issue a public response to any of these events. No doubt many Americans were to busy watching football and eating turkey to care about Iran’s claim that they nabbed 12 undercover CIA agents. But the President isn’t an ordinary American and contrary to popular belief the rest of the world doesn’t stop when we have a holiday. The President has no business issuing statements on the end of the NBA lockout when CIA agents are arrested in Iran, NATO is bombing Pakistan and the Muslim Brotherhood is rioting in Egypt, threatening to kill Jews and blowing up pipelines to Israel.

Obama has remained largely silent throughout the month of November. It served him well as his poll numbers climbed several points before he foolishly called the American people lazy at which point his numbers sharply declined. Last week his poll numbers rose a couple points, largely due to a yearly holiday good cheer bump.

The President cannot however remain silent while world events are blowing up all over the world. Particularly world events that Obama has direct involvement in. The European Union, the Euro in particular, are on the brink of collapse. That doesn’t require an American response. But when the President actively supports the overthrow of a ruler, as he did in Egypt, when our agents are arrested and when an organization that we more or less control is bombing countries we are not at war with, it requires a response from the President. So far we haven’t had any. Worse, the media is ignoring these dangerous situations.

The world is a dangerous place right now. We have a President who, when he isn’t choosing the wrong side to support, doesn’t do much of anything. Obama passively watches as world events put the United States in a more dangerous position. It is outrageous that a dozen CIA agents were arrested in Iran. Obama should be ashamed that this happened under his watch. It requires a response from the President. Instead we get nothing but a media blackout. Why? Why exactly is the media protecting the President from this horrible news?

The world is dangerous and Obama doesn’t seem to care. We have a President who we can count on to do nothing over the course of the next year to protect American interests abroad. Vladimir Putin is threatening to return the world to the Cold War, Obama you can bet will do and say nothing. The choice we have next year isn’t just going to come down to economics. Foreign policy is just as important. Our choice is going to come down to a President who hasn’t protected our interests abroad, has sided with the wrong people repeatedly and who doesn’t seem to care when our nation is undermined against a Republican candidate who will protect our interests abroad and not side with terrorists like the Muslim Brotherhood.

Arab Spring Erupts: Israel Under Attack On All Fronts

The fruition of the grand Arab Spring has begun. With all its grand talk of democracy, the revolutions held in Egypt and the attempted revolutions elsewhere in the middle east haven’t given the people freedom, a better life or for that matter democracy. The goal of the revolutions was never democracy or freedom, the goal was to get rid of current regimes and install Islamic Socialist states with strong ties to Iran. Iran’s goal of course is to rid the world of Israel and create an Islamic caliphate if not throughout the world than at least throughout the middle east.

Over the weekend Israel came under attack by protesters seeking to illegally enter the country through Lebanon, Syria and Gaza. This has been the goal of the democracy protest organizers all along. Egypt is preparing to elect a leader from the Muslim Brotherhood, which of course has strong times to Hamas. Hamas wants Israel wiped off the face of the Earth. Keep in mind, Hamas is one of the bigger groups representing the Palestinians, a group that is apparently going to have a vote in the UN over whether to recognize Palestine as a state in September.

Israel is under attack on all fronts and there is no telling what Obama is going to do about it. The media is trumping up Obama’s foreign policy after the Osama killing but when it comes to actual foreign policy, the media has largely ignored his errors. Israel is facing attacks at their borders today, Hamas has been launching rockets into Israel for years. Now Israel is facing serious political attack at the UN. If the UN votes to give the Palestinians statehood, Hamas and other radical groups will be able to conduct full scale war against Israel and will be able to secure official backing by other Muslim states.

The big question is whether Obama will use America’s veto power at the UN. All indications seem to point towards him not  using the veto. This is a vote that is coming up in September, so there’s still time for Obama to do the right thing. But assuming he does not, Israel will be stuck responding to the UN’s creation of a Palestinian state. It likely will not be supportive of the UN’s actions, which of course the Muslims want. That will give Egypt and other Muslim states the excuse to in the very least break their peace agreements with Israel and at worse go to war with Israel.

The grand Arab spring that Obama and other leftists so joyfully welcomed is turning out to be little more than a preparation for war with Israel. The people in Egypt are no better off than they were under Mubarak, in fact polls indicate that they may be worse off. They’re essentially exchanging one tyrant for another. All of these protests and revolutions were little more than fronts for Iran backed groups like the Muslim Brotherhood. It’s been amazing to watch American leftists get in bed with these people, all because of their mutual love of socialism and their hatred for Israel and the United States.

This summer is going to be very difficult on the foreign policy front. Israel is going to face increasing attacks and increasing political pressure to accept a Palestinian state. Hopefully they will resist because a Palestinian state will not be a peaceful state. The left-wing media will no doubt treat Israel like they’re the bad guy when in fact they are seeking to protect their citizens from war. We must recognize what’s going on here and reject the media and the left’s support for totalitarian Islamic socialist dictatorships masquerading as democracies. We must support the one free country in the middle east: Israel.

Why I Support Israel Over Islamic Socialism

I support Israel and am shocked at the Obama administration’s move away from supporting Israel as an ally. There are a lot of Christians out there who support the current state of Israel because they believe it to be the reincarnation of the Israel of scripture. Such people tend to believe that Israel’s existence is a sign of upcoming end times. I couldn’t disagree with such a position more. The current state of Israel is not the reincarnation of scriptural Israel. It is little more than a secular country filled with people who need Christ just like the people in Egypt, Jordan and elsewhere.

I do however support Israel and desire the United States to have a closer diplomatic relationship than it currently does under Obama’s leadership. This is because Israel is the lone nation in the middle east with a free and republican form of government. They are a strategic ally in the middle east and a nation that closer shares our values than the Muslim nations in the middle east. Israel is the lone nation of freedom in a part of the world that loves tyranny and barbarity more than anything else.

Make no mistake, the leaders of the Muslim world are brutal. They kill women for not wearing enough clothing, they deny their people freedom of speech, religion etc. Israel is the opposite, they are a western country that shares our western values. It is important for the United States to be allied with them. Especially so in the face of the Islamic socialism that is currently sweeping the middle east.

Egypt has long been an ally with Israel. It has for quite some time been a moderate Muslim nation. However today thanks to the Muslim Brotherhood, aided by the Obama administration, Egypt is no longer an ally with Israel they have as a nation moved towards a more radical and extreme version of Islam. The Brotherhood wants to go to war with Israel. Meanwhile the current government in Egypt is busy locking up bloggers. Conditions aren’t any better in Egypt, they’re in fact worse. Tourism has been destroyed and people are starving. This has only made the move to radical Islam more extreme.

Meanwhile Iran is busy building 4-5 nuclear reactors.  This is a nation that wants to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth and no one seems to be saying anything about Iran continuing forward with their nuclear program. If you think for a second that they aren’t going to build a bomb to drop on Israel you’re bananas. There is no doubt that, if given the opportunity, Iran will nuke Israel.

The UN recently declared that the Palestinians are ready for statehood. The UN is going to push hard for Palestinian statehood as there is a vote coming up in September on this subject. The Palestinians are busy launching rockets into Israel and murdering Israeli families in cold blood. The Palestinians celebrated by handing out candy in the streets over the murders. Just a few weeks ago Palestinians bombed a bus in Jerusalem. This sounds like a group of people who are ready for statehood, if of course statehood means they get to immediately declare war on Israel.

Who happens to be the Palestinians biggest ally? Iran of course. What does Iran want to do? Wipe Israel off the face of the Earth. A Palestinian state will do little more than allow Iran to further wield power in in the region. Iran will use the new state to launch attacks on Israel, be the attacks nuclear or conventional.

This is important for the United States. We need to stand against Islamic socialism throughout the world. Make no mistake, these radical Muslims want to create a global caliphate and they’re beginning in the middle east. The last thing we want to deal with is a caliphate of radical Muslims with a socialist bent. The more broken up the Muslim world is, the easier it will be for the United States to buy oil and conduct business. The minute the Islamic world is able to unite in a caliphate is the minute oil because more expensive than any of us can afford. It is important for the US to remains allies with Israel because they are the only nation blocking the caliphate. A Palestinian state will lead to the destruction of Israel and with Israel out of the way Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood will be free to create a caliphate.

Our interests are at stake in Israel. This is why it is maddening to watch President Obama turn his back on our longtime ally. Israel is important, not because it’s some sort of reincarnation of ancient Biblical Israel but because it is the one thing blocking an Islamic caliphate. We must stand with Israel against the radical Islamic socialists.

Hillary Clinton Admits Iran Involved In Middle East Uprisings

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton admits that Iran is trying to influence and aid the Islamic socialist revolutions taking place throughout the middle east. This is hardly a shocker to those of us who have been following the middle east over the past 4-6 weeks. I discussed Iran’s connections with the Muslim Brotherhood weeks ago. It’s been clear as day that they are connected with the protests in Egypt and they clearly have an interest in asserting their power in the middle east. Iran also has some religious reasons for getting involved as Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been talking about bringing on the return of the 12th Imam since his days as Mayor of Tehran.

What’s amazing is that Hillary’s admission is the first time this administration has made a connection between the events in Egypt and elsewhere in the Middle East and Iran. It’s sort of incredible considering last week Iran sent war ships through the Suez Canal. The administration had nothing to say about this action, the first of its kind from Iran in a generation. Iran used those warships to give supplies to Hamas. Who is Hamas affiliated with? The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and Code Pink here in the US. The Brotherhood also has direct connections with Iran.

How is it that people like me can see the connections between Iran and the problems in the Middle East but it takes the Obama administration weeks to acknowledge the connections? I would like to think that the President is on top of this stuff and knew about the connections long before any of us. But if this is the case why did it take the administration so long to say anything? Iran is a rogue state, a country that we don’t have great diplomatic relations with. They’re dangerous, so why doesn’t the administration say something when Iran is trying to influence revolution throughout the middle east. It seems to me that pointing out what Iran is doing and opposing their actions would be a wise move. Instead Obama has said nothing while his Secretary of State was trotted out to say something six weeks after the revolutions began.

This is so typical of this administration. They take forever to say anything about every single world or domestic event. Unless the President is being flippant in attacking cops, it takes days and weeks for the administration to formulate an opinion or say much of anything. This isn’t the first time the Obama administration has remained silent on Iran. When the real freedom protesters in Iran (these folks wanted western style freedom as opposed to Islamic socialism) Obama remained silent. It still boggles the mind as to why Obama would oppose freedom protesters in Iran.

The big connection here is that while Iran is involved with the Muslim Brotherhood, so is the Obama administration. I suspect that might explain part of their silence. Obama has been behind the scenes aiding the Muslim Brotherhood in their preparation for revolution in Egypt. Wikileaks dumped a number of documents proving the connection. Iran is also connected to the Muslim Brotherhood, that’s hardly been a secret for the past 30 years. So it begs the question why the Obama administration is supporting a group that is also supported by Iran.

Clearly the administration wants to hide the fact that they are in bed with the same group that Iran supports. By remaining silent about the issue they could deflect attention away from this fact until after folks forgot about the Muslim Brotherhood and the Egyptian revolution. In today’s media society that’s about 48 hours. The administration waited nearly six weeks. We really need to ask ourselves whether our administration ought to have the same goals and allies as Iran does. Is Iran under Mahmoud Ahmadinejad really the sort of country we want to be allied with?

World Tyrants Love President Obama

Whether you liked George W. Bush or not, there is no question that tyrants around the world feared him because they knew he wouldn’t put up with their nonsense. After Bush took out the Taliban in Afghanistan and Saddam in Iraq, Libyan Colonel Gaddafi begged Bush to make peace with him. He feared that he might be next on Bush’s list. After all, Gaddafi is a terrorist who is responsible for over 150 American deaths. Even Iran didn’t mess around with Bush like they’re messing around with Obama. Is there any question as to why Iran never tried to sail warships through the Suez Canal during the Bush administration?

Nile Gardiner of The Telegraph makes the argument that tyrants around the world don’t fear America under Obama. Obama has been slow to criticize tyrants around the world and he’s been quick to point out all of America’s faults, real or perceived, on foreign soil. It is clear that Obama doesn’t believe in American exceptionalism and it’s clear that Obama doesn’t believe America holds any significant place in the world. We’re just another country as far as Obama seems concerned. That attitude is seen by the world’s tyrants and they are acting accordingly.

The Obama administration has been slow to respond to just about every issue that has come their way both foreign and domestic. It took them months to decide what to do in Afghanistan, leaving the mission in limbo while they pondered what to do. When major ice storms hit Arkansas and Kentucky, it took the President several days to even acknowledge the damage. When long time American ally Hosni Mubarak saw protests break out throughout his country, it took the President days to say anything about the situation. It took the President nearly ten days to say anything about the violent uprising in Libya. After 1,000 died Obama couldn’t even bother to mention Gaddafi by name.

Meanwhile Iran is sending warships through the Suez Canal and handing out war supplies to Hamas. The President says nothing. It goes right along to his response to the real freedom protests that took place in Iran last year. The Iranian government is busying killing off the leaders of the real freedom movement (as opposed to the fake freedom movement put on by Islamic socialists and unions in various countries over the last month) and of course the President says nothing.

I don’t know why President Obama is unable to formulate quick responses to situations throughout the world. His apologists will claim that he’s deliberating and getting all the facts. But a lot of these events were predictable, especially the ones in Egypt which Obama helped orchestrate by supporting the Muslim Brotherhood. So why didn’t Obama have anything to say for most of a week? Did he not anticipate events? Is he sticking his licked finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing?

The problem with Obama is two fold. First, I think he has a very difficult time making decisions. It’s very easy to second guess everything the President does from the cushy Senate chamber or on the streets of Chicago. It’s another thing to be the one making those decisions. Not everyone is cut out to lead and make tough decisions. I dare say Obama is one of those people. The second problem is that Obama doesn’t think America is a special place. In fact, he thinks America is evil. His two books so much as suggest that. His associations with socialists and communists over the years suggest that he has no problem with the idea that America is evil. In fact his statements during 2008 prove it, after all didn’t he declare that he would fundamentally transform America? You don’t fundamentally transform a country unless you think everything is wrong.

The end result of Obama’s slow responses and belief that America isn’t exceptional is that tyrants around the world are no longer afraid of an American response. Obama has freed the terrorists in Iran to run wild in the middle east. They don’t have to fear an American response. It frees tyrants in Russia and China to do the same thing. These countries can do as they please and threaten their people and neighbors without fear of any American response. In the middle east Islamic socialists are taking over, partially with the help of Obama. There are tyrants in this group, do you think they fear Obama if they take things over the top? I highly doubt it.

We have a major Presidential election coming up next year. Is there any doubt that the tyrants of the world are cheering for Obama, just like they cheered for him in 2008?
