Media: GOP Uses Super Secret Racist Code Language

The Republican narrative this week is that Obama had failed as President and it’s time for a change. The media narrative is that the Republicans are a bunch of racists using super secret code words. Whether we should be outrage or rejoicing remains to be seen. No doubt the accusation of racism is an outrage. But if the left has gotten to the point where the only way they can defend Obama’s failed record is to call everyone in the GOP a racist, that may be cause for rejoicing. After all, such an argument shows everyone with even a little sense the failure of Obama.

The media claimed everything at the GOP Convention was racist. Rick Santorum’s hand’s speech was racist. The word Chicago is racist. Indeed, no one can suggest we send Obama back to Chicago because obviously only black people live there so that’s racist. We’ll pretend Obama doesn’t live there and we’ll have to forget about all the Democrats wanting to send George W. Bush back to Texas. Did I mention that Rick Santorum’s hand speech? The overplayed metaphor is super secret code language about black people on welfare. Yep, Salon made that argument. Why does the left always assume that people on welfare are black? Don’t they know the majority of welfare recipients are white?

Not to be outdone by Salon, Ron Fournier of National Journal breaks down Republicans super secret code words. Fournier went back to his hometown of Detroit and talked to one of his old pals who lives in Macomb County. He takes his white friend out to breakfast, which itself is a sign of racism because we all know how cliche white people like breakfast. Fournier loves to take his white friend out for breakfast because it gives him the opportunity to break down super secret racist code words which Fournier then writes about during Republican Conventions. That’s right, he’s pulled this stunt before.

Unemployment in the city of Detroit is 30%, which Fournier’s white friend thought was 40%. What a racist! His friend points out some of the major problems with welfare. It breeds laziness and dependance. People cheat the system and as a taxpayer he finds it outrageous. He’s a fireman in the city of Detroit, so not surprisingly he largely comes into contact with black welfare recipients. He never suggests all blacks are lazy, he likely knows better in light of the fact that he works in the city of Detroit. If 40% in his mind are unemployed, that means 60% are hard working and doing the right thing. Why we should punish this guy as a racist when the overwhelming majority of welfare recipients he’s come into contact with are black is beyond anyone’s understanding. I’ve come into contact with welfare cheats of all races, they’re one in the same. They all pull the same stunts, they’re all lazy. The white ones are exactly the same as the black ones.

But of course Fournier extends his friend’s alleged racism to the entire Republican Party. You see, the GOP uses his friend’s super secret breakfast code language. Thus when Romney spoke last night in code, because of Fournier I now know what a racist he is. Do you see the absurdity here? Nearly 45% of the country religiously votes Republican. That means not only is 45% of the country racist but it means we all know the super secret code language. If we all know the code language, why are we speaking in code? If we know the code language and Fournier knows the code language, don’t you think everyone knows the code? Again, why speak in code?

I suppose when Chicago is a racial epithet and having black and Hispanic speakers is a sign of racism then it makes perfect sense that Republicans would speak in super secret code. Sure, why not? Anything goes with the left. They’ll say anything to attack Republicans no matter how absurd. The intellectual bankruptcy of the left has been on full display in their racist attacks on the GOP. They’re losing the argument, they cannot defend Obama’s results so they’re going to attack the opponent as racist. It isn’t going to work. No one hears the super secret code but racists on the left who desperately want to hold onto their power. The sad thing is that the media is the one pushing all of this, showing their bias once and for all.

GOP Convention Day 3 Review

Last night was the final night of the GOP Convention. Let’s begin by stating that everything before 10pm was rather boring, sappy and/or completely uninteresting. About the only thing to be learned of interest is that Mitt Romney is cheap, which shouldn’t surprise anyone who knows anything about the self made rich. There were a bunch of sob stories from people who had difficult things happen to them and were helped by Mitt and Ann Romney. That’s all very nice and well, but did we need to hear these deeply personal stories? There are some things that a better off left a personal memory rather than fodder for a Presidential campaign.

Getting to the prime time portion of the evening, let’s start off with Clint Eastwood’s awful and offensive performance. This is the grand mystery speaker people have been speculating about all week, it’s a shame Romney couldn’t have done better. Eastwood talked to an empty chair that represented Obama. He made sex jokes and demeaned the office of the President. It was a wholly disgusting performance that placed a dark cloud over the whole evening. How could the Romney team be so foolish? Why do Republicans feel the need to trot out Hollywood celebrities, as though we can’t win on our own merits?

Sen. Marco Rubio gave a very fine speech, he admittedly looked better considering his horrible lead in. I was originally in the Rubio for VP camp. I now see the error of my ways. Rubio gave a good speech but he was nowhere near as good as Paul Ryan. He did however touch on the issue of faith, which is something that has been missing this whole week. We must never forget that salvation isn’t to be found in politics or government, it’s to be found in Jesus Christ alone. It’s a shame that we’ve gotten to the point in the GOP where we’re to afraid to even mention that, lest the clowns in the media attack us. Rubio at least touched on the issue, to his credit.

On to the big speech. Romney gave a very good performance. He had two goals last night, one of which he achieved and the other he didn’t. His first goal was to introduce himself to the country and tell us about his life, family and outlook. In that Romney was masterful, much to everyone’s surprise. He told us about how he loved his wife and children, how he would give anything to have his young boys back again. That spoke to a lot of the country, it humanized him. He spoke about the possibility of success in America, he was surprisingly nationalistic. He offered a fine contrast between himself and ‘you didn’t build that’, globalist Obama.

His second goal  last night was to lay out his vision for the future. He did that on some level, but it was largely bullet points without detail. I was looking for a little more substance on his plan for the future. This was an opportunity to lay out the plan before the American people and show them the sharp contrast between his vision for the future and Obama’s last four years. Instead of doing this, Romney focused on love of country while more or less arguing that it’s okay to make a change. This was an opportunity lost as far as I’m concerned even though he hit a home run in his introductions.

The speech deserves a B. It was well delivered, he connected with the audience and the public like he’s never done before. He was up front, concise. Romney avoided soaring rhetoric and at one point attacked Obama’s absurd soaring rhetoric that the oceans won’t rise because he’s President. Romney displayed a love of country and optimism for our future and in the American worker. But the glaring error last night was the lack of detain concerning his vision for the future. We conservatives should be concerned because he seemed to suggest that Obama’s plan could have worked but didn’t. Paul Ryan argued last night that Obama’s plan never could have worked, suddenly the top of the ticket thinks it could have. That’s concerning. Overall though the speech was fine and I predict a 2 point bump in the polls.

GOP Convention Day 2 Review

Day two of the GOP Convention is in the books. The last three speakers, Condi Rice, Susana Martinez and Paul Ryan, were excellent. Everyone else was mostly dreadful, including John McCain who should have a restraining order barring him from within 300 feet of the Convention. Over all, day two was excellent for the Republican Party. Anyone undecided voter who watched came away with a positive view of the GOP, if not Romney. At this point, if the GOP can at least get people on board with a positive view of the party they’re in good shape.

Let’s begin with Condi Rice, who delivered perhaps her best speech. She made a compelling argument for American strength abroad but more importantly she tied in domestic issues. Condi is running for President next time around and this speech was the kickoff for that campaign. She is a masterful speaker, capable of tying multiple issues together in a complex manner. Condi argued for American exceptionalism and warned us against self destruction. She declared not even a rising China can harm us like we can harm ourselves. She is absolutely correct. Admittedly when she finished I wondered why she wasn’t the VP nominee before remembering she has an abortion problem.

New Mexico Gov. Martinez was the lead in for Paul Ryan. It must be difficult going after a masterful speaker like Rice, knowing that the VP nominee is up next. Martinez held her own though, she did a fine job. Her best moments were of her recalling her Democrat past, her entire family was Democrat growing up and into adulthood. Then when thinking of running for office two Republicans visited her and talked about basic issues. Martinez and her husband walked away from the meeting thinking “I’ll be damned, we’re Republicans.” A lot of people who haven’t been exposed to the GOP walk away thinking the same thing. She may very well be talking to Hispanic voters with that line but she might as well be talking to the entire country because people of all ethnic backgrounds walk away thinking that.

The selection of Paul Ryan as Romney’s running mate was absolutely perfect and we all got to see why last night. Ryan seemed a little nervous at first, my wife thinks he sounded a little under the weather. His slow start did not overshadow the bulk of his speech, which was phenomenal. But perhaps the most important thing Ryan did last night was tell 2008 Obama voters that it’s ok to make a change. Here are a couple of quotes aimed directly at those people:

It all started off with stirring speeches, Greek columns, the thrill of something new. Now all that’s left is a presidency adrift, surviving on slogans that already seem tired, grasping at a moment that has already passed, like a ship trying to sail on yesterday’s wind.

Ladies and gentlemen, these past four years we have suffered no shortage of words in the White House. What’s missing is leadership in the White House. And the story that Barack Obama does tell, forever shifting blame to the last administration, is getting old. The man assumed office almost four years ago- isn’t it about time he assumed responsibility?

College graduates should not have to live out their 20s in their childhood bedrooms, staring up at fading Obama posters and wondering when they can move out and get going with life. Everyone who feels stuck in the Obama economy is right to focus on the here and now. And I hope you understand this too, if you’re feeling left out or passed by: You have not failed, your leaders have failed you.

Paul Ryan made the case for his Medicare plan, he made the case that he wants to save if while Obama is gutting Medicare by $700 billion. He made the case that the Stimulus failed, that Obamacare was shoved down our throats and that the economy has failed due to Obama’s economic policies. Perhaps most importantly, Paul Ryan looked into the camera and made these arguments. He appeared genuine.

Independent voters are going to love Ryan’s speech, it did a world of good for Romney. Now it’s up to Romney to live up to Ryan’s speech tonight. Mitt needs to focus a little more on foreign policy than Ryan did but the bulk of his speech needs to be about jobs, the economy and Federal spending. Our nation is about to hit the $16 trillion debt mark, Romney would be wise to reference it. If he hits this speech out of the ballpark like Ryan did, the momentum will be on his side entering September.

Racism Abounds At MSNBC, Left Afraid Of Losing Minorities

The left-wing media and the Democrats have a narrative about the Republican Party. That narrative is that the GOP is racist and sexist, devoid of blacks, Hispanics and women. They insist that we Republicans speak in a super secret racist langauge wherein a “welfare queen” must be black despite the fact that everyone knows the majority of people on welfare are white. Chris Matthews insists that everything the GOP does is cloaked in racism and super secret racist innuendo. The left has always projected its worst qualities onto Republicans. It is the left that hears “welfare queen” and immediately thinks black. But somehow their assumption isn’t racist.

Unable to cite any actual examples of institutional racism in the Republican Party the left-wing media has simply decided to make it up. NBC offers an array of speech clips from the first night of the GOP Convention. Not one of them is of the minorities that spoke, including Ted Cruz and Artur Davis who both gave terrific speeches. Maybe NBC didn’t have access to the clips because MSNBC actually cut away from coverage every single time a minority spoke last night. NBC and MSNBC clearly don’t want people to see that there are in fact minorities in the Republican Party. One wonders why.

Not to be out done, the LA Times claims the GOP is trying to but a “brown face” on a white party. NBC’s Chuck Todd attacked the Republican Party for putting minorities in the forefront. Throughout the day and week we’re likely to see more articles and more ridiculous statements coming from the left-wing media. They have a narrative about blacks and other minorities and a narrative about the Republican Party. Anything that goes against that narrative will be attacked, mocked or simply removed from the record in the case of NBC.

There is nothing about ones skin color or ethnic background that would require them to join one party or the other. There is nothing inherently liberal about black skin or a Hispanic ethnic background. The left has forever demanded a collective mindset for minorities, even if such a collective mindset goes against individual interests. In order to maintain the status quo, minorities have to be kept afraid of the GOP. The left has to lie about us, call us racists and such in order to maintain their racial and ethnic monopolies. That’s why NBC edits out minority voices from the GOP Convention, blacks and Hispanics aren’t allowed to see that the GOP isn’t waiting to lynch minority speakers.

The fact though is that the Republican Party is the party for blacks and Hispanics who love individual freedom. It’s the party for the millions of minority small business owners. It is the Republican Party that wants to cut red tape and costly regulations that hurt small business owners. We’re the party for young minorities who dream of making it big and enjoying the fruits of their success. We’re the party for minorities who hold on to traditional family values and faith. We’re the party for minorities who want educational freedom. In fact, the Republican Party is the party for people of all races and ethnic backgrounds who own small businesses, believe in traditional family values and who dream of working hard and achieving the American Dream.

The left-wing media will not tolerate minority Republicans and will attack both them and our party for their existence. One wonders why the left doesn’t want minorities to be able to think for themselves. One also wonders how it isn’t racist to cut away from the GOP convention every time a minority speaks. The left is afraid of losing its monopoly on race based voting blocks. They should be because the more blacks and other minorities see that the GOP isn’t racist the more likely they are to join us. There are millions of minority small businesses and millions of church going minorities with the same family values as most of the Republican Party. The media and the left are clearly afraid and are willing to stoop to overt racism in order to hide the truth.

GOP Convention Day 1 Review

Day one of the GOP Convention is in the books. Mitt Romney was nominated for President by the delegates, much to the chagrin of the loud and obnoxious Ron Paul supporters. We saw some terrific speeches, particularly by John Kasich, Ted Cruz and former Democrat Artur Davis. We saw some not so great speeches, such as those from Virginia Governor McDonnell and the legion of small businessmen who came to declare they built their business. The point is well taken but these people are so nervous and so unpolished that their point gets lost in their wide eyes and broken sentences.

Perhaps the best part is the media’s plans to show a split screen between the GOP Convention and Hurricane Issac hitting New Orleans failed. The media desperately wanted the GOP to cancel last night’s program, if not the entire Convention. When MSNBC wasn’t playing “negro spotting” with other Democrats on Twitter (yes, they’ve stooped that low on the left) they were demanding the cancellation of the Convention. NBC and CNN joined in the chorus. Thankfully Issac wasn’t nearly as strong as it could have been and it appears that the storm caused no more damage than one would expect for such a storm.

The two big speeches last night came from Ann Romney and Chris Christie. Mrs. Romney seems like a lovely lady. She was able to present her husband in a way that no one else can. She was clearly nervous last night and on occasion channeled her inner Oprah shouting at various delegates. But her point was never lost in her nervousness, if anything the nerves were endearing. Perhaps the best part of the speech is when she discussed their first apartment, a basement flat with no real table. Romney didn’t just wake up one morning a millionaire, he had to work for it. His first four years of marriage were spent in business and law school without much money. He then went on to build Bain from scratch. Mrs. Romney made all of this human after months of attacks on all of it from Obama.

Chris Christie brought all of the bombast you would expect him to bring. His speech was very good, culminating with a demand for a second American century. This is the sort of positive outlook for the country that Romney needs to channel Thursday night and throughout the rest of the election. This election is about choices, Obama doesn’t believe in American exceptionalism and he disregards the 20th century as being an American century. Romney obviously doesn’t but he needs to make the distinction loud and clear. Chris Christie was definitely loud and in this case he was quite clear. Over all a very good speech.

In terms of what helps Mitt Romney get re-elected, Chris Christie’s speech didn’t do that. Let’s face it, the Christie speech was red meat for Republicans. We all loved the speech but it didn’t win Romney any votes. Christie is over the top, his discussion of telling people the truth was borderline insulting (at least in delivery) and while people will like the 2nd American century line, this just isn’t the sort of character who will win Romney votes and an election. We all knew that going in though didn’t we? The party has to have some rah rah guys who excite the base, the party still has to get us out to the polls.

Mrs. Romney on the other hand was a star, she won votes for her husband last night. There are going to be women voters out there who absolutely love her telling of the first few years of her marriage. Ann Romney personalized her husband, something he desperately needed. She did for Mitt what Laura Bush did for George W in 2000 and it may very well propel Mitt to the White House. Despite the Democrats best war on women efforts, the women voter gap is shrinking and it will shrink further after last night. Over all a very good night for Romney and the Republicans.

UPDATE: MSNBC apparently was playing “negro spotting” with Democrats on Twitter. Every time a minority spoke, MSNBC cut away. This sort of political racism is disgusting.

Obama Government Whines Too Few On The Dole

The Federal government recently declared that “too few” Americans are on the government dole. The government apparently conducted a poll which discovered that only 15% of Americans turn to the government during tough times. Apparently during difficult financial times Americans are more likely to dip into personal savings (44%) or rely on help from family (21%). This is an outrage according to the bureaucrats in the Federal government who believe you people need to be relying on them for your every need. This sort of nonsense coming from the Obama administration provides Romney with the perfect argument against Obama’s policies. Obama wants us dependant on government, Romney needs to make the case that we should continue to depend on ourselves.

Of course the numbers from the government poll are questionable. Nearly 1/3 of Americans receive some sort of check from the government, thus implying we aren’t completely relying on savings and family. Granted, much of that is social security which people continue to believe is some sort of trust account. Still, nearly 50 million Americans are on food stamps. Obama has increased the number of people on social security disability by nearly 4 million, many with questionable permanent disabilities. Government dependence is still astronomically high and it has only gotten worse under Obama.

Nevertheless the government poll does suggest that Americans don’t run straight to the government. They do what’s right first, they look to their own savings then to family. This is how it should be, though I would add people should look to the church as well and the church must be there to help. The biggest mistake the church has made in the last century is ceding their duty to aid the poor to the secular government. Considering though all the people on food stamps and other forms of welfare, even if Americans didn’t run to government first we have a massive problem on our hands.

The welfare system we have right now isn’t sustainable. We cannot continue to have the bottom 50% not pay anything in income or capital gains tax but suck up billions in welfare and food stamps. We need those people working again. Under Barack Obama unemployment has been above 8% for his entire administration. Long term unemployment is at its highest since Jimmy Carter. Middle class salaries are down 5% during the Obama administration. The top 1% pay 60% of all income and capital gains taxes yet Obama wants them to pay even more and is willing to increase taxes on the middle class in order to get it. The system we have right now isn’t sustainable and is headed for collapse if Obama is re-elected.

Romney needs to be making these arguments. He needs to attack the Federal government’s admonishment that Americans don’t look to government for assistance first. He can do it in a positive way, praising Americans for looking to themselves and their families first. The government’s poll in the least suggests that we still believe in individualism. Romney can contrast that with the collectivism of Obama and his administration.

Getting the economy back on track will result in increased middle class salaries and decreased reliance on government welfare programs.Romney needs to make the case that Obama has failed in the last four years to get the economy back on track and he further needs to make the case that his plan will work and bring the economy roaring back. The economic numbers during the Obama administration are damning but Romney has got to make the case that he has an alternative that will work. The choice must be between a failed economy plus government reliance and an economic comeback and self determination. If Romney can successfully make this argument, he’ll win.

Romney Recipe For Failure: Making Nice With Obama

A Washington Post-ABC poll shows Romney ahead by 1 point, 47-46. The nice thing about this poll of registered voters is that is’ +9 Democrat. This means that 9 percentage points more worth of Democrats were polled compared to Republicans. In The Washington Post’s dream universe only 22% of the electorate will be Republican. Keep in mind the 2008 Democrat landslide was only +7 for the Dems, 2010 was even when the GOP won big. This election won’t be + 7 for the Democrats, much less +9. Nevertheless, this poll is important because despite the fact that it over samples independents and Democrats (only when compared to Republicans) Romney is still up by 1 point. The polls have tightened over the last month.

This week the Republicans will be holding their Convention. You would think this would present the GOP with an excellent opportunity to hammer Obama and introduce Mitt Romney to the nation. Unfortunately according to Romney the theme of the Convention is going to be “that Obama is a nice guy but he’s incompetent.” We all understand that Romney is going to try to portray himself as a sunny optimist ala Ronald Reagan. But who is he kidding when he suggests Obama is a nice guy? This is a President who has allowed his campaign to call Romney a felon, a tax cheat and a wife murderer. This is a President who has called Republicans “the enemy.” He’s a nice guy? You’ve got to be kidding me.

Once again the Republicans just don’t get it. It all begins with their ridiculous decision to hold their convention in Florida during hurricane season when they could just as easily have held it in Columbus or Cincinnati and achieved the same goal. Now they’re going to play nice with the Democrats while Joe Biden threatens to come to town and the President calls our candidate an extremist on the even of the Convention. Who wants to bet the farm that Romney and Ryan will be nowhere near North Carolina next week? In fact, why wants to bet the farm that the two of them law low during the Democrats Convention?

There are no friends in politics, there is no loyalty. These bygone traditions of making nice with the other party have long since fallen by the wayside, if they ever existed. After all, FDR had dozens of Republican newspaper men thrown in jail for “tax” evasion during the 30′s. All the while Republicans tried to make nice with the Democrats. Johnson called Goldwater an extremist, Carter called Reagan dangerous and George W. Bush has been called everything from a maniacal war criminal to a moronic monkey who does what his daddy tells him to do. Why the Republicans continue to try to play nice with the Democrats is beyond my comprehension.

Romney and Ryan need to do two things this week. They need to attack Obama’s failures as President and they need to offer a solution. They can’t play nice with this President because he’s sitting on ads showing Romney beating puppy dogs while Ryan throws dozens of grandmas over the cliff after they’ve had a last meal of Alpo. Romney/Ryan need to hammer home Obama’s $700 billion in Medicare cuts, they need to hammer home the failed $800 billion stimulus and the need to nail the $5 trillion+ in new debt and the yearly $1 trillion deficits. Then they need to offer their solution of Obamacare repeal, permanent tax cut extensions and plans to save Medicare all while fostering economic growth. The middle class is struggling, Obama has been a disaster for us. Romney needs to attack Obama’s absolute failure as President, not make nice with him.
