Hurricane Sandy Absurdly Tips Election To Obama

This country is lost. The government school system, which is a liberal nightmare, cannot adequately teach kids to read but it does a wonderful job of turning kids into emotionally driven nit wits. Next week Obama is going to be re-elected. That’s only half the problem. The real problem is what we’re seeing in the polls this week. Romney had a 3-4 point lead in the Rasmussen poll heading into the week. On Friday the poll was tied. What caused the change? Nothing more than Hurricane Sandy and the photo ops Obama had with crying women and a fat turncoat Governor of New Jersey. We’ve reached the point where voters switch sides on photo ops over reason.

Let’s talk about Chris Christie for a moment. This fat slob could single-handedly be responsible for Obama’s re-election. By heaping praises on Obama for doing nothing more than releasing money to New Jersey, Christie made Obama look bipartisan and reasonable. Christie didn’t have to heap praises on Obama, he could have done what he does best: Talk about himself. Instead he went out of his way to talk about how wonderful Obama is. Christie could have told Obama to stay away because his appearance would hamper relief efforts. Nanny Bloomberg did that in New York City. Instead Christie invited Obama, appeared with him and heaped praises on him. Now the polls are swinging towards Obama, Chris Christie the turncoat RINO of New Jersey is to thank.

We who follow politics are scratching our heads wondering who exactly these voters are who are swayed by nonsense like hurricane photo ops. They’re clearly people driven by emotions rather than logic. After all, Obama didn’t do much of anything. In fact, the Federal coordination of the relief effort has been downright dreadful. If Obama were a Republican the fact that FEMA still hasn’t been to Staten Island would be all over the news. But since Obama is a Democrat the media only shows him hugging a sobbing woman, we hear nothing about the people defecating in hallways of their waterless highrise slums.

People who vote based on emotional photo ops are why Barack Obama was elected in the first place. People were emotionally driven to vote for him based on his soaring, meaningless rhetoric. The country is now poised to re-elect this man based on the same emotions, this time over hurricane photo ops. Obama has offered us not a single plan for his second term. The first term has been an economic and international disaster. But he hugged a sobbing woman so why not re-elect him? It’s absolutely insane and we as a nation will get the judgment we richly deserve for re-electing this man for such flimsy, meaningless reasons.

Think I’m being over the top? Dick Morris, who has been predicting 350 electoral votes for Romney for the last two months, is sending out panic stricken emails concerning internal polling he’s doing. He’s very concerned about the Rasmussen poll and alleges that in his Pennsylvania internal poll Romney has lost 2 points in the last day. Go over to RCP, Obama has increased his lead on Friday in New Hampshire, Colorado, Michigan and Ohio. Romney pulled closer or further ahead in not a single state. Hurricane Sandy is winning this election for Obama, as absurd as that is. The left has won, we’re voting on emotion rather than logic and reason.

GOP Convention Day 1 Review

Day one of the GOP Convention is in the books. Mitt Romney was nominated for President by the delegates, much to the chagrin of the loud and obnoxious Ron Paul supporters. We saw some terrific speeches, particularly by John Kasich, Ted Cruz and former Democrat Artur Davis. We saw some not so great speeches, such as those from Virginia Governor McDonnell and the legion of small businessmen who came to declare they built their business. The point is well taken but these people are so nervous and so unpolished that their point gets lost in their wide eyes and broken sentences.

Perhaps the best part is the media’s plans to show a split screen between the GOP Convention and Hurricane Issac hitting New Orleans failed. The media desperately wanted the GOP to cancel last night’s program, if not the entire Convention. When MSNBC wasn’t playing “negro spotting” with other Democrats on Twitter (yes, they’ve stooped that low on the left) they were demanding the cancellation of the Convention. NBC and CNN joined in the chorus. Thankfully Issac wasn’t nearly as strong as it could have been and it appears that the storm caused no more damage than one would expect for such a storm.

The two big speeches last night came from Ann Romney and Chris Christie. Mrs. Romney seems like a lovely lady. She was able to present her husband in a way that no one else can. She was clearly nervous last night and on occasion channeled her inner Oprah shouting at various delegates. But her point was never lost in her nervousness, if anything the nerves were endearing. Perhaps the best part of the speech is when she discussed their first apartment, a basement flat with no real table. Romney didn’t just wake up one morning a millionaire, he had to work for it. His first four years of marriage were spent in business and law school without much money. He then went on to build Bain from scratch. Mrs. Romney made all of this human after months of attacks on all of it from Obama.

Chris Christie brought all of the bombast you would expect him to bring. His speech was very good, culminating with a demand for a second American century. This is the sort of positive outlook for the country that Romney needs to channel Thursday night and throughout the rest of the election. This election is about choices, Obama doesn’t believe in American exceptionalism and he disregards the 20th century as being an American century. Romney obviously doesn’t but he needs to make the distinction loud and clear. Chris Christie was definitely loud and in this case he was quite clear. Over all a very good speech.

In terms of what helps Mitt Romney get re-elected, Chris Christie’s speech didn’t do that. Let’s face it, the Christie speech was red meat for Republicans. We all loved the speech but it didn’t win Romney any votes. Christie is over the top, his discussion of telling people the truth was borderline insulting (at least in delivery) and while people will like the 2nd American century line, this just isn’t the sort of character who will win Romney votes and an election. We all knew that going in though didn’t we? The party has to have some rah rah guys who excite the base, the party still has to get us out to the polls.

Mrs. Romney on the other hand was a star, she won votes for her husband last night. There are going to be women voters out there who absolutely love her telling of the first few years of her marriage. Ann Romney personalized her husband, something he desperately needed. She did for Mitt what Laura Bush did for George W in 2000 and it may very well propel Mitt to the White House. Despite the Democrats best war on women efforts, the women voter gap is shrinking and it will shrink further after last night. Over all a very good night for Romney and the Republicans.

UPDATE: MSNBC apparently was playing “negro spotting” with Democrats on Twitter. Every time a minority spoke, MSNBC cut away. This sort of political racism is disgusting.

Irene A Manufactured Crisis

Hurricane Irene has come and gone, leaving a trail of hype and minor flooding. A hurricane is headed toward New York City and you would think the whole world was about to come to an end if you were to listen to the media and local governments. The hurricane amounted to little more than a large rainstorm, it resulted in little more than local flooding and a few uprooted trees. The tornado’s that destroyed Joplin, MO earlier this year caused more damage and death than Hurricane Irene. But don’t expect the media or local pols to put any of into perspective.

The highlight of the weekend was watching President Obama’s made for tv command and control video. The President pushed aside FEMA leaders to take control of the situation at the Hurricane command center. This isn’t the first time the President has released live, or taped minute by minute footage of him in action. You’ll recall that the administration released a video of Obama and his security team during the bin Laden killing. Apparently the administration feels the need to show us that Obama can in fact manage a crisis. Unfortunately Hurricane Irene wasn’t exactly a crisis.

In fact, not only was Irene not a crisis but the live footage the administration released made Obama look weak. The President is an executive, he’s supposed to hire people who can manage crisis for him. In the case of a hurricane, the President hires someone to head FEMA. The FEMA head then gives updates to the President and takes direction from him. With Obama pushing FEMA aside to lead the operation himself, if only for the cameras, the President appears as though he doesn’t really trust FEMA to do its job. Even if that’s a wise decision, at the end of the day it’s the President who hires the head of FEMA. So is Obama really saying that he doesn’t trust the man he hired? If so, why isn’t the FEMA chief fired?

In the face of sinking poll numbers, the President is desperate to show he has some leadership capabilities. But he isn’t the only one, Mayor Bloomberg and Governor Christie weren’t going to be overshadowed by Obama. Bloomberg shut New York down in a desperate attempt to make up for last winter’s snowstorms that the city fouled up. The Subway, for no particular reason, was still shut down earlier today. Meanwhile in New Jersey Gov. Christie told everyone to “get the Hell off the beach.” The Governor proceeded to warn that if you were on the beach you were going to die.

The Governor’s bombast is enjoyable most of the time but in the case of Irene, it was just a little over the top. Irene was a hurricane but it was the weakest possible hurricane. Most people heeded the Governor’s warning and got off the beach, but the media members who didn’t (as well as all others) didn’t die. In fact, but for flooding the beach may have been the safest place to be. The folks who got killed weren’t killed at the beach, they were killed inland by falling tree limbs.

There is no doubt that a lot of the overreaction to Irene is based on the inaction by local officials during Katrina. The Democrat Governor of Louisiana and the Democrat Mayor of New Orleans failed to evacuate the city in time and as such thousands were stranded. Obviously no elected official on the east coast wants to be responsible for something similar. But the east coast is not New Orleans. Millions don’t live below sea level and they aren’t protected by weak levies. It would be nice if elected officials and the media had put Irene into perspective. But when you’ve got the President strutting before the cameras “leading” the crisis, it’s difficult to imagine Mayor Bloomberg telling New Yorkers to calm down and get over themselves.

Radical Leftists Use Violent Rhetoric; Engage in Violence

Radical union thugs are after New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Apparently for having the audacity to want public sector union pay and benefits brought under control, Gov. Christie is worthy of being called Adolph Christie. According to the union thugs, it’s going to take World War Three to get rid of Gov. Christie. So much for not using violent language in political speech. The do as I say, not as I do liberals will of course not condemn such union language.

It’s sort of amusing to watch leftists in action. According the the New Jersey unions Chris Christie is like Hitler because the first thing Hitler did was go after the unions. In saying that they ignore the fact that Lenin and Stalin went after all the unions when they were in power in the Soviet Union. As is typical with the left, they ignore the fact that National Socialism and Communism’s only main difference is international outlook. They tear into Hitler as though he’s a Tea Party Republican when in fact he’s a radical leftist not much different from Richard Trumka and the rest of the leftist unions.

What’s interesting here is the violent rhetoric coming from the left. Sarah Palin’s crosshairs’ comments during the 2010 election were apparently outrageous to the left, but union thugs calling for war is no big deal. Meanwhile in San Francisco radical homosexual activists have thrown glitter on another GOP Presidential candidate. On the left it is acceptable to attack conservatives and other “enemies” with glitter. In Vancouver, officials blame the Stanley Cup riots on anarchists. Who are the anarchists? They’re anti-capitalist leftists who seek to bring about Marx’s anarchy.

So what does this all mean? First of all, the lack of knowledge about what the National Socialists were and where they came from is almost completely dominate in our culture. The left has done a great job lying about Fascism and painting it as a right-wing phenomenon when it in fact was birthed by the far left. Be that as it may, there seems to be a growing trend on the left toward not only violent rhetoric but violent action. Whether it’s throwing glitter at Republican Presidential candidates, throwing pies at conservative commentators or anarchist riots, there seems to be an acceptance on the left for these sorts of behaviors.

That leads me to wonder why the left puts up with this sort of nonsense. The far left wants to create chaos in this country and really throughout the world. They  understand that the only way for them to truly seize power is for there to be chaos.  When violent actions become acceptable, when riots take over it becomes easier for the most organized group to take power. Just look at the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. They were the most organized before the spring uprising and they are likely going to win the upcoming Egyptian elections.

Make no mistake, the far left in the United States is by far the most organized group. They’re plotting and planning, whether we’re talking about George Soros or Richard Trumka. The conservatives haven’t even started planning in comparison. We aren’t driven by Marx’s theory of history and so we don’t have a need to organize and plan for an eventual outcome. The far left does have a need to organize, at least in their minds. And of course they are organized. The more chaos there is, whether it’s a growing acceptance for throwing objects and Republicans or riots in the streets, the closer we get to the revolution the left so desires.

There will be more violence coming up over the next several years. Whether it’s random events like these glitter attacks or more organized events like the Vancouver riots. If Obama loses next year, even James Carville has suggested there will be unrest. Look for the radical left to not only organize the unrest but look for them to try to take advantage of the unrest they have created by seizing political power or in the least stepping closer to seizing power via revolution. We on the right must be aware of this and we must be prepared. We aren’t talking about harmless wild west gun rhetoric, we’re talking about actual violent actions. All of the political violence in this country has come from the left recently, we must be prepared for more.
