Cancun Agenda, FCC Power Grab & NBC Conflict

Agenda driven scientists have descended on Cancun for yet another global warming fear fest. You’ll recall last year at this conference the scientists predicted 2010 would be the warmest year on record. Today Europe is freezing and the world hasn’t seen anything close to the warmest year on record. That isn’t going to deter the fear mongering, agenda driven scientists. They claim if government isn’t given vast powers to destroy western economies the Earth’s temperature will rise by 6.4 degrees Celsius but only after 2050 when all the scientists who make this claim are dead. We’ll just have to trust them, after all they must be smarter than all of us. Their prediction is just a little absurd considering that since 1850 the Earth’s temperature has only risen by .7 degrees, most of which happened before World War Two. Today the media has plastered fear mongering stories that to a word echo claims made by scientists that two tropical islands are going to disappear because of the rise in Ocean levels. The two islands may very well flood out but it isn’t going to be because of global warming. One island has destroyed itself by over mining the coral that it sits on, the other island has over farmed itself. But the media isn’t going to tell you that, they’re just going to repeat what the agenda driven scientists say. All this conference is meant to do is scare people into giving up their rights and freedoms in the name of a boogyman that hasn’t been proven and is likely untrue. There have been so many examples of these scientists suppressing information and manipulating data that it’s a wonder that anyone believes anything they say. Oh but their computer models show this or that. Who do you think put the data into those computer models? The scientists who have an agenda to push of course. If these scientists insisted the ancient world was visited by aliens we would laugh at them and mock them when they appear on the History Channel. So why don’t we laugh at them when they make outlandish claims that have no basis in reality? It’s simple, there is an agenda of control at stake and global warming, climate change or whatever they want to call it is just the vehicle to achieve that agenda.

It’s been argued by the far left that Obama is a centrist or a sell out to centrists. Most Americans find this sort of claim completely absurd, as evidenced by last month’s elections where the people firmly rejected Obama’s far left agenda. As further evidence of Obama’s far left agenda we need to look no further than the FCC. The FCC is going to attempt to promulgate rules regulating the internet. Currently the internet operates in almost complete freedom from government control. In the name of freedom, the Obama administration is going to attempt to regulate the internet. The internet doesn’t need to be regulated by government, it’s perfectly fine as it is now. But those who want more power in the hands of Washington bureaucrats see the internet as a vast area that can be regulated by Washington. The Obama administration is moving in that direction, perhaps because they’re far left liberals. The FCC also has another proposal, one which seeks to regulate the news media. The FCC chairman wants to regulate broadcast media by subjecting televisions stations to a ‘values test’ every four year. This ‘values’ test would require diversity programing (whatever that is) and send to the government a list of shows they plan to broadcast. The values are apparently liberal values, diversity is almost always codeword for liberal. My guess is that this is a backdoor attempt at pushing the Fairness Doctrine. But this sort of regulation is disturbing beyond the Fairness Doctrine aspect of it. Should government determine what sort of news appears on television in the name of diversity? The FCC’s proposal goes well beyond the powers that government is granted in the Constitution, the first amendment in particular. The FCC is trending hard to the left meanwhile the liberals pretend that Obama isn’t a liberal. It’s almost comical.

You’ll recall the left-wing rage when it was announced that NewsCorp, parent of Fox News, gave $1 million to the Republican Governor’s Association and $1 million to the Chamber of Commerce. This somehow proved that Fox News was biased in favor of conservative and/or Republican candidates. It came to light last week that General Electric, parent of NBC and MSNBC, received $16 billion in bailout money from the Federal government. Of all the networks, NBC and MSNBC have been the biggest cheerleaders for Obama and all of the stimulus and bailout programs. So where are the liberals now? Silent of course. NBC and MSNBC are no better than NPR. Their news is little more than government news because of the massive amount of money their parent took in from the government. GE’s gift from the taxpayers pales in comparison to News Corp’s donations. In fact, GE’s take from the government makes their suspension of Keith Olbermann for donating a couple thousand dollars to Democrats look downright ridiculous. (it was ridiculous no matter what GE was up to) The claims of unbiased news coming from NBC must fall on deaf ears because of General Electric’s massive take from the government. Why should anyone believe that NBC and MSNBC are anything other than spokesmen for big government? Do you really believe that NBC is going to run stories that are highly critical of the administration or government generally when GE has so much at stake? It wouldn’t be in GE’s interest to have their nationwide news shows attack government in any meaningful way. But the left is silent on this matter. Could it perhaps be because they support what NBC is saying even though it’s clearly tainted? It makes their arguments against Fox News seem just a little bit disingenuous. Actually it makes their arguments seem a lot disingenuous.
