Media Bias, Contraception and The Homosexual Agenda All Connected

Week two of slutgate continues in earnest. We are to be outraged because Rush Limbaugh called 30 year old Georgetown law student and feminist activist Sandra Fluke a slut because she wants everyone else to pay for her absurdly expensive birth control pills. Limbaugh offered a half hearted apology over the weekend, a waste of time that only feeds the leftist piranhas. In other news the media is after evangelical Christian Kirk Cameron because he believes homosexual acts are unnatural, detrimental and destructive to the foundation of civilization. Outraged we are to be over Limbaugh and Cameron, similar attacks on conservatives and Christians by liberals are routinely ignored by the mainstream press.

Liberal talker Ed Schultz called Laura Ingraham a right-wing slut and regularly accused Sarah Palin of being a bimbo. Keith Olbermann suggested that S.E. Cupp should have been aborted by her parents and declared Michelle Malkin a “mashed up bag of meat with lipstick.” Chris Matthews called Michele Bachmann a “balloon head” who is lucky that literacy tests are illegal. Of Sarah Palin he accused her of not being capable of thinking. Bill Mahar called Sarah Palin a “dumb twat” and cunt. He recently made jokes about Rick Santorum’s wife and a vibrator.

All of these absurd attacks matter because the media didn’t get outraged over any of them. The attacks themselves are largely stupid and irrelevant. But it’s interesting that when a conservative launches a stupid and irrelevant attack it’s an outrage but when liberals do it the media ignores it. They either agree or don’t care to bring down one of their own in the media.

When the left-wing media isn’t creating a double standard when it comes to dumb attacks on women, they’re creating a double standard on homosexuals and Christians. Homosexuals are the new glorified class. Have you noticed there are homosexuals in just about every show now? Have you noticed the voiceovers in ads with clearly effeminate voices? You’re not allowed to disagree with the homosexual agenda, lest you be treated like Kirk Cameron who spent the weekend the focus of media ridicule. The message is clear, don’t oppose the homosexual agenda.

But there is absolutely a double standard. While the media is shocked that Christians would actually oppose homosexual acts, attacks on Christians are ignored. Media darling Bill Mahar accuses Christians of being part of a dress up cult which hates sex and worships magic. He relentlessly attacked Tim Tebow for no other reason than he’s a Christian. The New York Times regularly associates the Christian faith with the National Socialist German Workers Party (Nazi’s). The Westboro Baptist crazies regularly make national headlines, despite being a “church” of essentially one family. They’re the object of ridicule in the media, an example of what we’re all like. Meanwhile the liberal Archbishop of Canterbury is regularly promoted as reasonable even though he doesn’t believe in even the basics of the faith.

Time asked if Hell was dead last year and then went on to attack conservative Christians in their article. In 2007 the media wrote 17 stories on the Democrat Presidential candidates religion. In the first 10 months of 2011 the media wrote 183 stories on the Republican candidates faith. The media ignored Jeremiah Wright but attacked Michele Bachmann’s family counseling center because a secret tape allegedly showed an anti-homosexual bias. You see, it’s ok to ignore the racist rantings of Obama’s preacher but if a Republican is against the homosexual agenda it’s an outrage. Rick Perry was relentlessly attacked for talking about his religious faith, no one questions when Obama does the same thing at a National Prayer Breakfast.

Media bias is real. The cards are stacked against conservatives and Christians. Liberals can make all the disparaging remarks about women without even the slightest bit of outrage from the press. When a conservative does the same thing, apologies are demanded by the media. An evangelical Christian is relentlessly attacked for discussing his faith’s opposition to homosexual acts. When Christians are attacked the media ignores it or joins in the fray. The media loves to hold up liberal “Christians” as heroes and the real voice of the Christian faith while it loves to trot out a church of one family as an example of the conservative Christian hordes we’re supposed to hate.

It’s only going to get worse. The homosexual agenda is getting more entrenched in society and you can expect to see conservative Christians like Kirk Cameron relentlessly attacked. This ties in the the Sandra Fluke, contraception flap. If the Federal government can ignore the free exercise clause and force a church to pay for contraception when it is morally opposed to it, what power doesn’t the Federal government have over the church? It will be a matter of time before “hate crimes” legislation will ban preachers from opposing homosexual acts from the pulpit. It’s happening in Canada right now. It will all be made possible because of the destruction of the free exercise clause, destroyed by Obama’s contraception mandate. It is indeed all connected.
